Southern California quartet Movements have announced their new album No Good Left To Give, due for release on September 18 via Fearless Records. Alongside the announcement, the band -consisting of — Patrick Miranda [vocals], Ira George [guitar], Spencer York [drums], and Austin Cressey [bass] – have also shared a stunning animated video for new single “Don’t Give Up Your Ghost.”
At its core, the new record is what we’ve always been, which is emotional, real, and honest music
Speaking of the forthcoming record, Miranda said : “At its core, the new record is what we’ve always been, which is emotional, real, and honest music. We all know each other very well and understand our respective styles. We’re discussing mental health, struggles with relationships, and relatable things from our lives. At the same time, it’s a little darker.” Cressey added, “The mood is a little heavier, for sure… We didn’t try to emulate anyone. It’s very pure.”
It’s about not giving up when there’s so much more the world can offer.
Sharing the message behind the moody, introspective yet cautiously optimistic single, he explained : “It talks about depression and suicidal thoughts and tendencies. It’s about not giving up when there’s so much more the world can offer. Even though you’re in a certain place right now, it doesn’t mean you’re going to be in the same place forever.”
Movements have gone from strength to strength since their formation in 2015, with their 2017 full-length debut, Feel Something, connecting with fans and hitting over 40 million total streams by 2020.
