It’s no secret that live music’s current standstill has impacted a whole host of professionals, and photographers are no exception. With that in mind, we’ve handpicked a collection of some of our favourite music photographers who are killing it right now that you need to check out:

1. KAT NIJMEDDIN | @nijmeddin

If you’re at all familiar with Pure Noise Records, there’s no doubt you’ve come across Kat’s work. On top of their amazing photography and graphic design work alongside a whole host of bands, Kat’s also behind the incredibly wholesome 35mmfriends.

2. JOHN JR. | @johnjrculturecity

John Jr. is a self-taught photographer, graphic designer and conceptual artist based in San Francisco, CA. You probably know him better as Culture Abuse‘s guitarist. On top of his photography, John Jr. also produces zines and limited edition apparel as part of Outlaw Press.

3. GABE BECCERA | @gabethepigeon

Based out of Southern California, Gabe has a huge catalogue of material to acquaint yourself with if you’re not yet familiar – one of his recent highlights being the video for DRAIN’s ‘California Cursed’, which he filmed and directed.

4. ABBIE SHIPPERLEY | @abshipperley

Abbie is a freelance photography based in the South of England, with her well-established portfolio of work having been featured by a whole host of magazines and festivals. Her main focus may be live music, but she also lends her hand to travel and film photography.

5. NICK SAYERS | @nicholasasayers

UK-based Nick Sayers is a well-renowned photographer, having spent his career working with countless publications, musicians, venues and festivals. Some of our recent favourites of his are his Deathwish-featured pieces with bands like Deftones and Converge.

6. ALYSON COLETTA | @alysoncoletta

Alyson is a New Jersey-based photographer and videographer whose passion for music has led to her focus in live photography and tour documentation, with 2019 highlights featuring Every Time I Die, Bring Me The Horizon and The Used to name a few.

7. TIM EASTON | @timeaston

Tim is a London-based freelance photographer whose diverse portfolio ranges from live music to portraits to weddings, having worked with brands such as Dr. Martens, Skinny Dip and more.

Another addition from the South of England, Brighton-based Luke Bateman has a wide variety of photography and cinematography to pore over. With his work featured through a range of publications and collaborations, there’s a whole host of live shots, music videos and portraits to get stuck into.

9. MATT GABELL | @matouxn

London-based Matt Gabell has a killer reputation as a live photographer in UK hardcore and beyond, and has ventured into presenting his work through a collection of photozines featuring bands such as Have Heart, Incendiary and Year Of The Knife.

10. DURAN LEVINSON | @duranite

Duran is a Berlin-based artist whose photography and cinematography with acts like Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes is a real favourite of ours and available to dive into through their website.
