As time passes by, more tours are being postponed or cut short due to health concerns with coronavirus around the world. These are big and small tours in areas including UK and Europe, North America, and Asia.
Nearing the end of their UK leg, Woking outfit EMPLOYED TO SERVE released a statement saying that they will be postponing their European dates. Whilst they will finish their run of UK dates, they’ll be rescheduling their six European shows for later this year.
Also today, after insisting that “UNLESS I AM FORIBLY REMOVED FROM THE STAGE KICKING AND SCREAMING” his tour would continue, American musician GRANDSON had to unfortunately postpone his upcoming Canadian tour. After saying everyone faced a “tough decision” with deciding whether to postpone the tour or go ahead with the health risks, he confirmed he made “the right decision” with the postponement.
On a larger scale, both Evanescence and Within Temptation announced that their UK and European co-headline tour will be postponed for later this year. The tour, which was due to begin in early April, will be rescheduled and all tickets will remain valid for the new dates.
Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee has spoken about the postponement: “As many of you have already predicted, it is beyond our control that our upcoming European tour will have to be postponed. The show WILL go on, and we are already busy locking in the new dates for this fall. We are disappointed to make you wait, but fully agree that your health, safety and lives are more important than a concert. We will be releasing the first new music from our new album very soon, and are going to turn our full focus toward that till the show can go on. Stay tuned for new dates and new music. We love you!”
Within Temptation’s Sharon Den Adel added: “We are sorry to announce that our tour will be postponed. Nevertheless, in the meantime we will continue our preparation for the most kick-ass tour ever and more good news, new WT material will see daylight before the tour starts. We can’t wait to see you when the time comes. In the meantime take care & be safe.”
