Creeper pulling a David Bowie, Fever 333 hanging from it’s balcony, a farewell and an introduction, the Heavy Music Awards, it seems that over the decades London’s iconic KOKO has been home to momentous moments within both the city’s, and a global musical history.
Tonight videos and photos of the venue saw smoke rising well over the skies of Camden town, with six fire engines and 60 firefighters taking to the scene to help fight the blaze.

‘We were called at 8.56 to a fire at a Camden nightclub under refurbishment. Thirty per cent of the roof is alight. ‘Firefighters are working hard to save the rest of the building. Please avoid the area if possible.’ A spokesman tells us.
The venue was under refurbishment seeing the moving of the Heavy Music Awards amongst other events to other venues across the city.
