It’s a big day for show announcements; DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL have announced their headliners for their 2020 festival, as well as nine other acts to the line-up. And they’re not playing around!
It’s been announced that KISS, Iron Maiden and System of a Down will be taking over the main stage as Download’s upcoming headline acts.
Commenting on KISS returning to the festival, frontman Gene Simmons has stated, “I’ve said it before, Download Festival audiences are the best. They are up for whatever is thrown at them. KISS is going to come fully prepared to rock their world in 2020 to say Thank You for always showing up for us.”
Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson has also shown gratitude to being invited back: “Next year we will play a number of countries and cities we have yet to visit on this incredible tour, so it is terrific to be able to accept the invitation to return to Download in 2020.”
System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian has said: “From our appearances to many of my favorite bands’, Castle Donington has always had a special place in my heart. We’re proud and excited to continue its legacy.”
Other acts added to the line-up include Deftones, Korn, Disturbed and Black Veil Brides. Everyone has a favourite next year, and it’s looking to be one of the greatest years yet for Download!
Early bird tickets have already sold out, but the next phase of tickets will be on sale very soon – and of course, more bands are to be announced. Watch this space!
