They might be from the South Coast of the UK but listeners could be forgiven for thinking of an altogether different coast when it comes to REMINDERS, a band who describe their sound as ‘beach punk’ and take their influences from the sun-kissed melodies of Californian pop-punk mixed with the scuzzy rush and charismatic lyricism of old school British indie.
Building off their success with previous single ‘Post Paris Blues’ which was featured on Spotify’s New Punk Tracks playlist along with the likes of Blink-182 and Bad Religion, the band have just dropped ‘Picturesque’.
Speaking about the track, vocalist/guitarist Leo Dyke said: “I spend a lot of my time reminiscing and romanticising the past, and this song tackles the more self-aware side of my writing. This is about me doing that, but being totally aware of it. It’s got a poppier edge for sure, which is what we are all about. All of our favourite bands write the poppiest of melodies disguised with distorted guitars and played super-fast. We’re now all super excited to get it out into the world.”
