Last night the Australian Music Awards took place in Sydney last night and nominees for their Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album award were fierce. Along with Parkway Drive stood Polaris, West Thebarton, King Parrot and DZ Deathrays, all up for the award. But it was the Parkway boys who took the crown home for their latest album ‘Reverance.’
This isn’t the first time heavy metal and metalcore bands have taken awards home from the aussie award show, although the talent pool is quite selective now after the award show removed the Metalcore category due to controsery surronding previous winners and nominees.
Controversy still swarms the Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album of the Year category ever since it surfaced that the labels and bands were allowed nomatinate themselves in any category that gave them a better chance of winning.
Because of this the heavy category is now flooded with questionable nominees which came to light when psychadelic funk rock band King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard took out Best Heavy Metal Album in the 2016 awards, which Hellions, like many, weren’t too happy with.
this day is a reminder to us all that WE GOT ROBBED
