ARTIST: MILK TEETH
TITLE: VILE CHILD
It’s unpredictable, and it’s also pure brilliance. This is the band your parents have warned you about…
Whoever said grunge is dead was clearly stupid or they didn’t stick around long enough to check out Gloucestershire based MILK TEETH. With the release of their debut full length album, Vile Child ,Milk Teeth have firmly planted their feet in the ground and plan on staying there.
Vile Child is dripping with grunge and oozing with distortion. With tracks like ‘Brain Food’ talking about our generation and the real life struggles of the young British youth ‘I don’t want to live with Mum and Dad forever, but whats the dream if you don’t even try’’.
Milk Teeth have found a sound that moulds in with bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer and Grunge rock legends Nirvana. The chilling acoustic track ‘Kabuki’ is a strong reminder of Kurt Cobain’s ‘Something in the way’ with haunting vocals and lyrics like ‘’Give me a chemical fixer, a brain elixir, to kill of all self-hate, and the rest of me too’’.
Fronted by female vocalist Becky Bloomfield Milk Teeth stand out from every other band that are releasing music this year. Blomfield’s beautiful angelic voice is perfectly fought against by guitarist Josh Bannisters devilish screams and this epic battle of angels and demons is witnessed in full on tracks like ‘Leona’ and ‘Cut you up’.
Milk Teeth have planted a very strong seed in the muddy soil of 2016 and with time that seed will explode into something huge. Watch this space.
