TITLE: SELF TITLED
LABEL: RISE RECORDS
New Orleans based CANE HILL Named after an abandoned asylum in the UK and signed to the prestigious Rise Records describe themselves as Nu Metal and at first you are listening out for it, then suddenly BOOM! there it is! Hidden in tracks like ‘Gemini’ you get that KORN influence leaking out while in ‘French 75’ you get a slight LINKIN PARK feel. I couldn’t help but pick out a massive SLIPKNOT influence in vocalist Elijah Witt, its uncanny how similar he sounds to vocalist Cory Taylor in parts.
CANE HILL’s self titled EP is full of epic hard hitting metal riffs and chugs that will get you head banging so hard your brain will fall out of your waxy, bleeding ears. At times i felt myself waiting for an epic breakdown or a heroic axe wielding guitar solo from something out of dragon force but it didn’t come. CANE HILL are still fresh on the scene and oozing with honest Nu Metal bangers. Expect big things!
